On behalf of the newly elected Board of Directors of STEP Cyprus I convey my very best wishes and sincere thanks to all our members as we reflect on an eventful 2020 and shift our focus to the new year.
It is truly an honour and privilege to serve as the Chairwoman of STEP Cyprus and I thank my fellow committee members for electing me to this position, my predecessor Mr. Spyros Evangelou for his excellent work in the past two years and most importantly all our amazing members for your continued support.
Unpredictable events highlighted the past year which will not be easily forgotten and 2021 has been welcomed with even more challenges. As STEP Cyprus we will do our best to adapt in being not only your trusted source for information, but also refocus our efforts to address the challenges our business community is facing today. Our main targets will be the knowledge sharing, organize subject matter expert webinars and online speaker series in leu of our traditional events, address the present challenges and adapt to our new business environment. The worldwide pandemic will pass, and we will do our best to bring our Cyprus STEP community back together again through our traditional events such as conferences and networking events.
The newly elected Board of Directors of STEP Cyprus is committed to ensure that the new AML regulations on disclosure of UBOs will be implemented correctly and in line with the rest of the applicable laws and regulations, will be providing continued training and education to our members, attract more professionals to join us and strengthen the power of STEP Cyprus in lobbying decisions that affect the Cyprus trusts and estate planning.
In a time that changes are inevitable we look forward in offering new opportunities for all our members and looking forward in working with all of you to achieve this. Teamwork is more we and less me.
Thank you,
Stella Kammitsi
Chairwoman
STEP Cyprus
