STEP Sussex
Sussex branch was established in September 1991 and now has over 220 members principally from legal and accountancy practices. The membership is spread over both East and West Sussex and represents the elite Trust and Estate Practitioners in the area with expertise in advising on most private client matters. STEP Sussex Branch offers a range of formal and informal opportunities for TEPs, students and other interested professionals to meet.
Branch meetings
The branch aims to satisfy its member's STEP CPD requirements by holding at least two half day meetings, two late afternoon meetings and two evening meetings each year.
Half day meetings
Half day meetings usually commence at 2pm and end at 5pm. Half day meetings qualify for 3 hours CPD. Half day courses will usually have one or two guest speakers covering their particular subjects in more details. Networking opportunities arise before and after the meeting.
Late afternoon meetings
Afternoon meetings commence at 15:30 and finish at 17:00 with one guest speaker. Afternoon meetings qualify for 1½ hours CPD. As with the half day meeting networking opportunities arise.
Non-branch members
We welcome non-branch members and, in particular, members from overseas branches to our meetings. If you are an offshore member passing through Gatwick, why not come down and attend a branch meeting?
Students
Sussex branch is always pleased to see students attending our branch meetings. We are a very welcoming and supportive branch and are happy to offer discounted rates for our meetings to any registered STEP student.

A Brief History of the Sussex Branch
The initial meeting of the Sussex Branch was held on 11 March 1991 at the offices of DMH Solicitors in Brighton. From an initial membership of 8, the branch has grown to become one of the largest in the UK outside London with a membership of over 220.
The branch was also previously one of the most active and innovative in the UK, putting on a programme of regular meetings and the annual Sussex STEP Conference. Six branch meetings take place annually, and the Sussex STEP Conference is now part of the National Conference.
