Biography:

Sharalee Gittens is an Attorney-at-Law and Associate of Chancery Chambers, a leading corporate commercial legal practice in Barbados since 2011 and a member of the Bar of England and Wales since 2009.

Her work which spans mergers and acquisitions, cross border financing, ship financing and financing of mineral exploration interests also includes banking and insurance regulation. Sharalee also manages a portfolio of labour law advising on contentious and non-contentious matters from the point of recruitment through separation. She contributes to Chancery's Blockchain/Financial Technology team which is focused on researching and advising on the application blockchain and financial technology in Barbados, the regulation of digital assets and other initiatives such as the Barbados Stock Exchange's listing of digital assets. Using Spanish as a second language her portfolio of work includes several of the firm's Latin American clients.

Through Chancery's corporate services and assurance management arms, she also works on the incorporation and licensing of various corporate vehicles including segregated cell companies and other complex structures used by insurers, banks and other international and domestic business entities.

Sharalee has recently assisted on research projects related to trust arbitration, incorporated cell companies and attorney-client privilege. Her professional memberships include the Barbados International Business Association, the Caribbean Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the STEP Barbados Branch Executive.
