In addition, Carla’s practice encompasses domestic and cross-border estate planning, including Canada-U.S. planning and planning involving common law and civil law jurisdictions and forced heirship regimes.

Carla works closely with family offices, including KPMG’s multi-family office, to help simplify complex wealth circumstances, protect and grow a family’s estate, plan for effective charitable giving, and uphold a family’s legacy.

Carla also advises both individual and corporate trustees, executors, and attorneys for property on their duties and obligations, and has experience advising on multi-jurisdictional estate administrations. In addition, Carla often counsels beneficiaries on their rights with respect to their interest in a trust or estate.
